If we are talking just about the league, than as a Portuguese, I agree with this madness! And we could make the second devision and third the same. Than ligue 4 (4th devision) could be the SL put per nation and the top four of each would have to play a final 8 to see which four go up, and the same on the third devision, the the lower 8 to see who goes down and who stays. And that would make the complete Iberian league the best in the world! And Sporting, FC Porto, and Benfica would have awesome teams and be challenging Atlético, Barça and Madrid 😊

This would never happen simply because it would ruin the base divisions. Football is built from the base to the top, that’s the reason a project like the Superleague failed immediately, this is not American sports.
But, for the sake of it, it would be very entertaining to see Portugal’s big clubs go against tougher competition week in and week out.

I leave here the potencial (best) national team:
Gk: Joan García, Diogo Costa, David Raya
Cb: Ruben Dias, Cubarsì, Laporte, Inácio
Lb: Nuno Mendes, Cucurella
Rb: Pedro Porro, Dalot
Cm/Cdm/Cam: Pedri, Vitinha, Neves, Bruno, Rodri, Zubimendi
Lw: Rafael Leao, Nico Williams
Rw: Lamine Yamal, Bernardo Silva (or whoever who wanna be a bench warmer 😅)
St: Mikel Merino and Oyarzabal
This team is more stacked than the french one and would have no rival imo.

Vila-real and Malaga have no place in a league based on these factors.
Neither does Osasuna and Elche.

Replace them with Sporting Gijón, Racing, Oviedo and Mallorca, that actually would far better reflect Spain and the fan bases and derbies

If they shared a league, one of the countries' clubs is disqualified from the Champions League (except via being champions of the Champions League or Europa League). Lichtenstein lacks a domestic league, its teams competing in the Swiss league, and as a result, the only team from Lichtenstein qualified for international competition is the winner of Lichtenstein's domestic cup. Even if a team from Lichtenstein wins the ASF-SFV, they're not eligible for a berth to the Champions League that was reserved for Switzerland. Unless the countries themselves merge, there's no way one of the top leagues in Europe is agreeing to this.

I assume the choice of clubs would be for a first season, as afterwards you wouldn't have to strictly have 16 Spanish and 4 Portuguese and could just let the promotion/relegation system decide
